Engineer. Researcher. Gambian.
I'm a software engineer and AI researcher originally from The Gambia, West Africa. I currently work as a Research Engineer at the Human-Data Interaction Lab (HuDA Lab) at NYU Abu Dhabi, where I research large language models (LLMs) in religious contexts and data voids.
My academic journey took me from Gunjur, The Gambia to Berekuso, Ghana (Ashesi University), then to Kigali, Rwanda (Carnegie Mellon University Africa) โ all as a proud MasterCard Foundation Scholar - and now to Abu Dhabi.
Before research, I have been working as a Software Engineer at DEPT Agency (Denver, CO), building software solutions for businesses and institutions. I've developed 10+ applications spanning web, mobile, data visualization, and artificial intelligence.
Beyond code, I co-founded GamFruits, a climate-smart community fruit farm in Gunjur that won $7,500 in social venture funding. I'm also a Resolution Fellow, recognized for leadership and innovation among young African change-makers.
I believe technology built with purpose can transform lives โ and I'm committed to proving that through every line of code I write.
